4/23/08 TARGET AREA FORECAST

Well, it looks like convection has pretty much gone up everywhere this morning. I'm just waiting around for the next wave to come in later on this afternoon.

Moisture will definitely not be a problem today. The RUC model has the western edge of the moisture staying in eastern NM this evening. It's also not showing much of a dryline taking shape either. Needless to say, I don't think the dryline will come into play on today's event.

My gut feeling tells me to go to Childress, TX later on this afternoon. I think the instability will be the best down in that region. Also, the RUC shows that the LLJ will get cranking later this evening which will help to "fuel" any supercells that form. Of course this target area could change as the day progresses, but for now, the corridor in the CHILDRESS, PADUCAH, CROWELL AND VERNON area is going to be the play for today. I will probably sit in Vernon to start off with and then go from there.
