I thought it would be fun to go back and show some of my "old school" photos from back in the day. Of course these were taken with a film camera, namely the Nikon N65 camera.
I guess "old school" might be overdoing it a little, but we have to admit that the digital age has pretty much wiped out film photography completely. Sure, there are the hard core photographers that still use film as the base for their photos, but I bet there aren't many left.
I bought the film camera at Ritz photo in the mall in Amarillo back in 00 or 01. Anyway, it wasn't all that long ago, but the way technology has progressed, it seems like an eternity.
Wall cloud taken on May 29th 2001. It went on to produce a very large tornado between White Deer, TX and Panhandle, TX.
Photo taken near Plainview, TX on one of my first good storm chases. I saw golf balls that day. Also this photo won "photo of the week" on the weather channel. Taken May 2001.
A classic bell shaped mesocyclone taken on Hwy. 60 near Panhandle, TX. Storm moved SW as it produced softballs near Panhandle. Taken in 2001.
Photo taken in western Montana in 2001.
"Atomic" convection taken on a storm chase in the eastern TX panhandle in 2002.

Where in Western Montana, Jason? That looks eerily familiar...
I believe it was at a wildlife refuge north of Missoula.
God, makes me feel very old when someone refers to something in 2001 as "old school" or even film.
I had pictures of storms taken with a Polaroid camera. I would be willing to bet 75% of the chasers today don't know what that is, and if they do they certainly never saw one in person.
Nice pics tho man.
Yea, maybe I should have worded it better. I kinda feel old talking about it now!
Maybe film is old school because of the technological advances in the last 8 years. We've really gone a long way in the past decade or so.
Man, I dig that Montana shot.
Thanks Steve. That Montana shot was really the first real "landscape" shot that I ever took.
