Well, summer still hasn't arrived here in the panhandle. It's been a rainy pattern the last 10 days or so and it's very much welcomed. Normally, it's supposed to be hot and dry this time of year, but this rainy and cool pattern has been holding on.
I went for my normal 1.5 mile jog this morning. I looked at radar, and I thought I might stay dry. That didn't happen. I run around John Stiff park, and as I made my way by Zach's club 54, it started raining. It was only a light shower, but by the time I got home, I was soaked.
On a side note, since I have started my running program back up, I have lost 9 lbs. and I sure feel better. I guess getting wet is worth it since I'm doing something good for my body.

Not too long ago, you pondered the possibility of a "summer without a summer". We are certainly on track for that. Already halfway through July with lots of relatively cool, rainy weather.
After such a blsitering and bone-dry start to 2008, and hotter temps in April and May, this has been a year of extremes for the TX PH. :-)
I was really getting a bit scared when we hit 106 about a month or month and a half ago. I was thinking it was going to be a long scorching summer. I sure hope this pattern lasts for the rest of the summer. I'm sure it won't, but It would be nice.
I'm really starting to get excited at the possibility of a few significant snows this winter. Well see...
Have you guys noticed a lack of humidity this year?
Around OKC we just haven't experienced that awful gulf moisture yet and usually by now we are drenched in sweat 90% of the time here. I'll take it though and am certainly not complaining!
I know, it's usually the other way around but we have had Td's in the upper 50's the last month or more. With this tropical air lately, it's been in the low to mid 60's lately.
I was thinking like you Jason eaarlier this year that we were literally going to dry up and blow away out here.
It's been pretty muggy and tropical around here for the past 2 weeks it seems like. I don't have the exact altitude/pressure calculations, but I think mid 60's here are like mid 70's in central OK. I need to get that info. ;-)
Some of the cumulus and TCu look similar to what I've seen near the TX coast. It doesn't look like it's over with yet!
