And that's exactly what the insurance adjusters did! Myself, Jay McCoy and his chase partner Jeff left Amarillo and headed for Garden City, KS to spend the night. We arrived there at around 6pm and headed straight for the Comfort Inn. We went in and there were no rooms available. Guess who had all the rooms? That's right, the good ol' insurance adjusters. We went to the Holiday Inn Express and they were also booked as were 99% of the places in town. One place was open and we went there and immediately had concerns. It was not the nicest place to stay the night. Don't get me wrong, I'm not the type that has to have the best of the best. We all talked and decided to call Dodge City motels for a room. We got 2 rooms at the Comfort Inn. We arrived about 7:30 and I'd have to say, this place is very nice. I would recommend it to anyone.
We then went to a steak house called Cowtown. We all ordered prime rib and it was fantastic. Jeff was nice enough to pay for dinner, which I appreciate very very much. We then went back to the motel and looked at the models while watching the Spurs get beat. At one point the Spurs were up by 20 points! I hated to see that!
Now for the big event of the day. I just got through looking at the RUC and I have to say, today is going to be a BIG DAY!!! I think today may very well be the biggest day of the year. SPC is talking about cyclic supercells with strong tornadoes. I agree with this completely. Tornadoes are possible from SW Nebraska all the way down into the E TX Panhandle. I think we will be heading north form Dodge City today. We may end up near I-70 near Hill City.
I can't write much more right now because were about to head down for our free breakfast at the motel. I will post some photos tonight when I get back to the motel.
GOD PLEASE KEEP EVERYONE SAFE TODAY!
